Leisure Heating Help Alan Titchmarsh And His Team With An Episode Of ‘love Your Garden’

The Challenge

In March 2018, Leisure Heating was approached by the production team of Alan Titchmarsh’s popular television programme ‘Love Your Garden’. They were planning the garden makeover of a Mum and super Foster Carer, in Nottingham and needed our help.

Our brief

‘We’re creating a garden for a rather special foster family. Our wonderful lady was one of the youngest foster mums in the country when she began and has continued to provide a safe and loving home for many children as well as her biological family. They are a young and vibrant bunch, with teenagers who love playing board games, watching films, having barbeques and want to socialise in their garden. We want to give them a cool place to hang out, with a variation on space for the teens and a well needed relaxation area for the parents. For this we’d love to heat the outdoor lounging area, and wondered if your products would fit the bill.’

The Solution

We, of course, took the challenge by providing two waterproof pendant heaters for their outdoor seating area. Our outdoor hanging heaters were perfect for this scheme, providing instant, low cost heating to the each area and making part of the garden into a ‘room’ that could be used in any season.

Whilst installing these heaters it quickly became apparent that there was no easy way of suspending them in the correct position to effectively heat the ‘chill-out’ area.  The limited filming timetable of the makeover did not allow special brackets to be manufactured so some quick thinking was required. Leisure Heating Ltd had previously provided infra-red heating for a Church in Stilton, Cambridgeshire, and had taken out some wall brackets which were similar to those needed. With a bit of a modification, Leisure Heating returned to site the next day with two wall brackets to keep the makeover on schedule for the ‘reveal’ the following day.

Leisure Heating Ltd are proud to have assisted Alan Titchmarsh, David Domoney, Frances Tophill, Katie Rushworth and the whole ‘Love Your Garden’ team on this very worthwhile makeover.
